The Greatness of Kubjāmraka: Raibhya’s Boon and the Teaching on the Sacred Tīrthas
vyālī prāgjyotiṣe jātā rājaputrī yaśasvinī || nakulo 'jāyata tadā kosaleṣu janādhipaḥ ||
Varāha (default dialogue frame)
It preserves Purāṇic-style regional memory by linking named figures with major toponyms (Prāgjyotiṣa and Kosala), a common method for encoding cultural geography and lineage tradition.
Prāgjyotiṣa (often associated in scholarship with the Assam/Kāmarūpa cultural sphere) and Kosala (commonly linked with the Ayodhyā region in North India, depending on textual context).
The verse is primarily descriptive (genealogical/geographic) rather than prescriptive; its philosophical function is to situate human actors within a remembered landscape and polity.
