Recitation with translationSanyasa Upanishad 2.21

krameṇa sarvam abhyasya sarvam anubhūya jñāna-vairāgyābhyāṃ svarūpānusandhānena deha-mātrāvaśiṣṭaḥ saṃnyasya jāta-rūpa-dharo bhavati. sa jñāna-vairāgya-saṃnyāsī॥21॥

Having gradually mastered everything and having experienced everything, by knowledge and dispassion, through inquiry into (one’s) own essential nature, leaving only the body as a remainder, he renounces and becomes one who bears the ‘form of gold’ (i.e., purified, steadfast). He is a renouncer of knowledge and dispassion.

Moksha (liberation) through jñāna-vairāgya and svarūpānusandhāna (Self-inquiry) culminating in saṃnyāsaMahavakya: Supports the import of ‘अहं ब्रह्मास्मि’ (Aham Brahmāsmi) and ‘तत् त्वम् असि’ (Tat Tvam Asi) by emphasizing Self-inquiry (svarūpānusandhāna) as the means to realization; not itself a Mahāvākya.AtharvaChandas: Prose
