The Svādhiṣṭhāna wheel is said to be at the genitals; there, through a jewel-like thread, the body is filled by the vital wind. The wheel at the navel region is called Maṇipūraka; in that great twelve-spoked wheel the being is governed by merit and demerit. The jīva wanders thus until it finds the Reality. Above the genitals and below the navel is the egg-shaped bulb (kanda); from it arise seventy-two thousand nāḍīs, among which seventy-two are particularly mentioned.
