  2. Development

Soma is depicted as pressing forward toward vāja (victorious force), empowering the seer who knows the laws (vrata) and arms himself for effective action.

  3. Climax

Soma’s purification is linked to universal order: all peoples stand upheld within his vow, as he is ‘lord of dharma’ and master of abundance.

  4. Where it settles

The hymn settles on Soma’s stable sovereignty as purifier—source of plenitude and lawful alignment—implicitly sealing the rite’s aim: clarity, strength, and ordered prosperity.

The deity: Soma Pavamāna

Frequently Asked Questions

The hymn praises Soma Pavamāna—Soma as he is being purified and made luminous while flowing through the filter during the Soma rite.

It asks Soma to flow to the worshippers bringing broad rayi (plenitude/prosperity) and to help them know jyotis (Light), along with strength for successful action.

Because Soma’s purification is seen as establishing right order: his ‘vow’ (vrata) supports beings in a lawful pattern of life, so abundance and power arise in harmony with dharma.
