Outer meaning

This immortal Soma-god brightens upon the womb; he is Vṛtra-slayer, most effective in winning the gods.

Inner meaning

Soma as a divine power becomes luminous upon the ‘yoni’—the matrix of manifestation in our nature (the receptive foundation where consciousness takes form). As delight clarifies, it turns into a force that breaks the Coverer (vṛtra): the resistance of inertia, obscurity, and subconscient blockage. ‘Devavītamaḥ’ indicates that through this delight we gain and bring down the divine powers into our work.

Universal truth

True joy, when purified, is not passive pleasure; it is an immortal strength that breaks inner darkness and attracts higher powers into life.

Themes

Vritra-slaying (inner), illumination, Soma-ritual, calling the gods

Significance

The seer emphasizes Soma’s transformative role: delight becomes luminous in the womb of nature and turns into a Vṛtra-slaying power—an explicitly psychological victory over inner obstruction.
