Soma Pavamāna (with Aditi as supporting cosmic principle)
This short Pavamāna Soma hymn praises the sacred drink as it is purified and set in motion through inspired seer-vision, described as being cleansed “on the lap of Aditi,” the boundless cosmic order. Soma is driven forward clothed in solar radiance (Vivasvat) and acclaimed as the unfailing lord of Vāc (sacred speech), ultimately being impelled into the exhilaration meant for Indra. The hymn’s purpose is both ritual—sanctifying the pressing and straining of Soma—and contemplative, linking purification with truth, speech, and cosmic wholeness.

Mantra 1
तममृक्षन्त वाजिनमुपस्थे अदितेरधि । विप्रासो अण्व्या धिया ॥
रिशियों ने उसे साफ किया, जो ताकत लाता है। वो अदिति की गोद में है, और छोटी-छोटी सोच से।
Mantra 2
तं गावो अभ्यनूषत सहस्रधारमक्षितम् । इन्दुं धर्तारमा दिवः ॥
गायें उसकी तरफ आवाज़ करती हैं, वो मान रही हैं। वो हज़ारों धारा वाला है, कभी खत्म नहीं होता। इन्दु आसमान से आता है और सबको संभाल के रखता है।

तमह्यन्भुरिजोर्धिया संवसानं विवस्वतः । पतिं वाचो अदाभ्यम् ॥
लोग उसे आगे बढ़ा रहे हैं, उनकी नज़र साफ़ है। वो रोशनी में ढका है, चमक रहा है। वो शब्द का मालिक है, कभी गलत नहीं होता।

तं सानावधि जामयो हरिं हिन्वन्त्यद्रिभिः । हर्यतं भूरिचक्षसम् ॥
बहनें उसे ऊपर पहुँचा रही हैं, पत्थरों से दबा के। वो सुनहरा रंग का है, सबको पसंद आता है। उसकी नज़र बहुत दूर तक है।

तं त्वा हिन्वन्ति वेधसः पवमान गिरावृधम् । इन्दविन्द्राय मत्सरम् ॥
जो लोग समझदार हैं वो उसे आगे बढ़ा रहे हैं। गाने से बड़ा हो रहा है, पवमान कहला रहा है। यह इन्दु है, इन्द्र के लिए खुश है।
