Sukta 9.113
यत्र ज्योतिरजस्रं यस्मिँल्लोके स्वर्हितम् । तस्मिन्मां धेहि पवमानामृते लोके अक्षित इन्द्रायेन्दो परि स्रव ॥
yátra jyótiḥ ájasraṃ yásmiṃl loke svàr hitám | tásmin mā́ṃ dhehi pavamānāmṛ́te loke ákṣita indrāyéndo pári srava ||
Where the unfailing Light is, in that world where the solar heaven is established—place me there, O self-purifying one, in the deathless, imperishable world. O Indu, flow forth all around for Indra.
The seeker turns from transient states to the plane of unbroken illumination (ajasra jyotis). ‘Svar’ is the supramental/solar realm of truth-light; Soma, purified delight, becomes the guide and carrier that can seat the consciousness there. The prayer ‘place me’ is an aspiration for stable abiding (akṣita) in the deathless awareness where light does not flicker into ignorance.
A stable life of clarity is possible when joy is purified of craving and becomes a quiet, luminous delight; then consciousness can dwell in a more enduring truth-state.
ascent to svarga/svàr, immortality, illumination
Ninth Maṇḍala Soma-stream: hymns of purification used liturgically and inwardly as ascent to svar (luminous truth).
The rishi’s aspiration is relocation of identity: from mortal flux into an imperishable light-world, by Soma as the psychopomp of bliss.
Soma mediates ascent to svar: he is the luminous essence that opens the ‘world’ of unfailing light.
Bliss that becomes steady illumination; a purifying sweetness that stabilizes awareness in clarity.
Soma purification/filtration chants in Soma-yajña

Jagatī (likely, consistent with RV 9.113 refrain)
48
4×12 (approx.); refrain provides a fixed cadence and closure.
Elevating and spacious; supports an upward ‘placement’ into higher realm.
Induces a sense of ascent and stabilization; the repeated refrain anchors the experience.
Soma rite as soteriological ascent: petition for placement in the world of unfailing light (svàr), framed within Soma’s purifying flow.
When Soma is being clarified and offered, invoking the heavenly world (svar) and immortality motifs.
Chanting during flow/filtration; offering intention toward the devas (esp. Indra).
Meditation for ‘abiding in light’: chant, then sit 5–10 minutes visualizing a steady inner sun above the brow, letting joy become still and bright.
(jyotis) from √dyut ‘shine’ (PIE *dyeu- ‘shine/sky/day’). /svàr from PIE *sweh₂l / *s(w)el- ‘sun/shine’ (comparanda include Latin sōl). (amṛta) a- ‘not’ + mṛta ‘dead’ (√mṛ ‘die’; PIE *mer-). from √kṣi ‘perish/dwindle’ with privative/negating sense: ‘undecaying’.
immortality (amṛta), imperishability (akṣita), world/plane (loka) as consciousness-state
Ajasra jyotis implies ṛta’s continuity—light that does not break into disorder.
Imperishability (akṣita) hints at truth that remains the same through time.
Ascent from mixed consciousness to a settled luminous plane; establishment of svar within the loka.
Yoga-Vedānta trajectory: immortality as consciousness-state, not mere post-mortem reward.
dawn-to-full-day (symbolically, emergence into steady daylight)
Unfailing light is sustained awareness; solar heaven is the truth-mind; Soma is the bliss-current enabling that stabilization.
Abide in an inner, unfailing light; let purified joy carry attention upward and hold it steady.
Ājñā (brow) and Sahasrāra (upper light)
Inhale imagining cool Soma rising; hold briefly with attention at brow as ‘jyotis’; exhale softly repeating the refrain mentally.
Steady luminous calm (prasāda) with a subtle bliss.
Avoid strain: seek continuity (ajasra) by gentle repetition; after chanting, practice ‘resting in the light’ rather than visual effort.
Maintain Vedic accents as marked (यत्र॒, ज्योति॒र, अज॑स्रं॒, स्व॑र्हि॒तम्, अमृते॑, अक्षि॑ते, इन्द्रा॑येन्दो॒).
Keep ‘jyótiḥ’ bright and slightly raised; let ‘amṛté’ be clear with a crisp ‘ṛ’. Refrain uniform each repetition.
ajasraṃ: ‘j’ soft, ‘a-jas-raṃ’ with final anusvāra, svar hitam: separate words cleanly; don’t merge into ‘svarhitam’ too heavily, akṣite: pronounce ‘kṣ’ as a single cluster, dhehi: two syllables ‘dhe-hi’
Luminous, even, unforced; aim for continuity without dramatic peaks.
