Sukta 8.29
योनिमेक आ ससाद द्योतनोऽन्तर्देवेषु मेधिरः ॥
yónim éka ā́ sasāda dyótano 'ntár devéṣu médhiraḥ ||
वो एक देवता अपने स्रोत पर बैठ गया है। वो देवताओं के बीच चमक रहा है। वो समझदार है और सब कुछ ठीक से समझता है।
The One has sat in the womb/source; shining within the gods, he is the wise/intelligent one.
The One power takes seat in the yoni—the origin or inner matrix of manifestation (the heart-cave, the secret source). From there it shines within the devas, i.e., it becomes the inner light that coordinates all luminous faculties. As medhiraḥ, it is the wise disposer: the organizing intelligence that distributes right perception and right action among the powers of the being.
The deepest source within is the seat of a single luminous intelligence; when it awakens, it harmonizes all faculties and makes wisdom operative.
Indwelling deity, Illumination, Foundation/seat, Wisdom-power
This is a classic inner-yogic statement: realization becomes stable when the One is seated in the source; then all god-powers become coordinated expressions of a single wisdom.
Immanent light in the divine powers; establishes order and intelligence in manifestation from the original seat.
Seated illumination: stable inner guidance that coordinates thought, will, and discernment.
Supports the notion of the deity seated in the yajña as its source; used to affirm indwelling illumination guiding the rite.

Gāyatrī (probable; compact luminous statement, likely part of a 3x8 structure in full context—uncertain)
24
Likely 3 x 8 syllables in full verse context; presented here as a concise line.
Settling then shining: a ‘seating’ cadence followed by a brightening phrase.
Encourages inward centering (seat in yoni) and then expansion of light through the faculties.
Supports the notion of the deity seated in the yajña as its source; used to affirm indwelling illumination guiding the rite.
Suitable at the moment of ‘taking seat’ for meditation; in ritual, could correspond to establishing the fire/presence in its altar-seat.
Ādhāna/saṃsthāpanā (establishing) of the divine presence and medhā (intelligence).
Use as a centering mantra when scattered: return to the ‘source-seat’ and let wisdom organize the day.
yoni- 'womb, source' from √yu/√yā? (semantic of joining/holding; traditional derivation treats as established noun). √sad 'to sit' → sasāda (perfect/aorist-like). dyot- from √dyut 'to shine' (PIE *dyeu/*dyut). medhira- related to medhā 'intelligence, sacrificial insight'; links knowledge and rite as one movement.
Immanence (antaḥ), Yoni as source-plane, Medhā (intelligence as sacrificial discernment)
When the One shines ‘within the gods’, their actions align as a single ordered system (ṛta).
Dyotanaḥ indicates truth-light that reveals itself from within.
From the womb/source the One becomes the inner light of all powers—emanation as immanence.
Integral Vedism: the One (ekam) is experienced as the inner coordinator of multiple god-powers.
pre-dawn to sunrise (implied by ‘shining’ from within)
Yoni = heart-source/subtle origin; shining = awakened awareness spreading through mind-life-body as coordinated luminosity.
Seat attention in the heart-cave (yoni) and sense a single flame/light there; then let it shine through all faculties (‘within the gods’).
Anāhata (seat) to Ajñā (illumination/medhā)
Slow inhale to heart (count 4), brief pause (count 2) ‘ā sasāda’, slow exhale (count 6) ‘dyotanaḥ’.
Centered luminosity; inner guidance active.
If many inner ‘voices’ conflict, return to the One in the source; ask that medhā arrange the devas (faculties) into harmony before decision or action.
Rigvedic accenting per śākhā; keep a clear lift on dyotanaḥ/medhiraḥ if marked; exact svara not fully reconstructible from the provided line alone.
Make ‘yonim eka ā sasāda’ feel like settling; ‘dyotano ’ntar deveṣu medhiraḥ’ feel like gentle radiance spreading.
yonim: clear ‘yo’; short i, ā sasāda: long ā; dental s, dyotanaḥ: ‘dyo’ as dy-; final ḥ, ’ntar: pronounce as ‘antar’ with light elision, medhiraḥ: aspirate ‘dh’; final ḥ
Soft, inward, luminous; sustain vowels.
