This brief Aśvin hymn is a dawn-invocation urging worshippers to call the Twin Riders first at daybreak, so they may arrive swiftly and drink the soma before hostile, “greedy” forces obstruct the rite. It praises their radiant chariot and mind-swift, wind-rushing help that carries the devotee beyond distress, concluding with a prayer for ever-new protection, prosperity (rayi), heroic strength, and enduring good fortune.

प्रातर्यावाणा प्रथमा यजध्वं पुरा गृध्रादररुषः पिबातः । प्रातर्हि यज्ञमश्विना दधाते प्र शंसन्ति कवयः पूर्वभाजः ॥
सुबह सुबह पहले अश्विन भाइयों की पूजा करो। जल्दी करो, नहीं तो बुरी ताकें सब ले जाएंगी। सुबह के वक़्त अश्विन भाई यज्ञ करते हैं। रिशि लोग भी सुबह ही उनकी तारीफ करते हैं।

प्रातर्यजध्वमश्विना हिनोत न सायमस्ति देवया अजुष्टम् । उतान्यो अस्मद्यजते वि चावः पूर्वःपूर्वो यजमानो वनीयान् ॥
सुबह ही पूजा करो, अश्विन भाइयों को बुलाओ। शाम को वो कोई भी पूजा नहीं मानते। दूसरे लोग भी पूजा कर सकते हैं, लेकिन जो पहले करता है वो ज़्यादा पसंद आता है।

हिरण्यत्वङ्मधुवर्णो घृतस्नुः पृक्षो वहन्ना रथो वर्तते वाम् । मनोजवा अश्विना वातरंहा येनातियाथो दुरितानि विश्वा ॥
अश्विन भाइयों की रथ आती है। उसमें सोना जैसा चमकता घोड़ा है, रंग शहद जैसा, और घी टपकता है। वो इतनी तेज़ हैं कि हवा की तरह आते हैं। सारे दुख दूर करके आते हैं।

यो भूयिष्ठं नासत्याभ्यां विवेष चनिष्ठं पित्वो ररते विभागे । स तोकमस्य पीपरच्छमीभिरनूर्ध्वभासः सदमित्तुतुर्यात् ॥
जितना बड़ा भक्त अश्विन ब्रदर्स का है, वो फायदा उठाता है। वो लोग अपने भक्त के बच्चों को आगे बढ़ाते हैं। अपनी शक्ति से वो उनका कल्यान करते हैं। भक्त के घर में उजाला रहता है, अंधेरा नहीं आता। वो आगे बढ़ता रहता है, रुकता नहीं।

समश्विनोरवसा नूतनेन मयोभुवा सुप्रणीती गमेम । आ नो रयिं वहतमोत वीराना विश्वान्यमृता सौभगानि ॥
अश्विन ब्रदर्स की शरण में आओ, वो नया तरीका दिखाते हैं। वो खुशी देते हैं, सही रास्ता दिखाते हैं। उनसे माँगो धन और शक्ति। वो वो सब देंगे जो अमर है, जो कभी खत्म नहीं होता।
