Agni Vaiśvānara (with praise that also frames a bountiful lordly power; donor-context with Tri-aruṇa)
This short hymn praises Agni as Vaiśvānara—the universal Fire and lordly power who makes prosperity and right order visible in the world. It frames Agni’s greatness through a donor-context (Tri-aruṇa) and links the hymn’s efficacy to the sacrificial word (ṛc/vāc) and to the Aśvamedha setting, culminating in a joint invocation of Indra–Agni to uphold kṣatra (sovereign might).

Mantra 1
अनस्वन्ता सत्पतिर्मामहे मे गावा चेतिष्ठो असुरो मघोनः । त्रैवृष्णो अग्ने दशभिः सहस्रैर्वैश्वानर त्र्यरुणश्चिकेत ॥
मुझे एक ऐसा नेता चाहिए जो सच का मालिक हो, जिसके पास ताकत हो। वो देवता जो सबसे ज़्यादा समझता है, वो मुझे अपनी बरकत दे। अग्नि, तुम वैश्वानर हो, तुम्हारे पास हज़ारों की ताकत है, तुम तीनो दुनिया को रोशन करते हो।

यो मे शता च विंशतिं च गोनां हरी च युक्ता सुधुरा ददाति । वैश्वानर सुष्टुतो वावृधानोऽग्ने यच्छ त्र्यरुणाय शर्म ॥
जो मुझे सौ बीस गइयाँ देता है, और दो ताकतवाली चीज़ें जुड़ी हुई लाता है। वो अग्नि, सबकी प्रशंसा करता है और बढ़ता है। त्र्यरुण के लिए शांति माँगता है। यह अग्नि सबसे बड़ा है और सबको रक्षा देता है।

एवा ते अग्ने सुमतिं चकानो नविष्ठाय नवमं त्रसदस्युः । यो मे गिरस्तुविजातस्य पूर्वीर्युक्तेनाभि त्र्यरुणो गृणाति ॥
अग्नि, त्रसदस्यु तुम्हारी अच्छी सोच चाहता है। वो नया गाना गाता है जो सबसे नया है। त्र्यरुण भी पुराने शब्द गाता है जब उसका मन जुड़ा होता है। दोनों तुम्हारी प्रशंसा करते हैं।

यो म इति प्रवोचत्यश्वमेधाय सूरये । दददृचा सनिं यते ददन्मेधामृतायते ॥
जो कहता है कि मैं यहाँ अश्वमेध के लिए आया हूँ। वो शक्तिशाली राजा के लिए घोड़ा देता है। जो मेहनत करता है उसको फायदा मिलता है। जो सही रास्ते पे चलता है उसको समझ आती है।
Mantra 5
यस्य मा परुषाः शतमुद्धर्षयन्त्युक्षणः । अश्वमेधस्य दानाः सोमा इव त्र्याशिरः ॥
जिसमें सौ ताकतें मुझे उठा रही हैं, जैसे ताकतवर बैल। अश्वमेध के दान से जो मिलता है वो सोम जैसा है। सोम तीन तरह की ताकत देता है, यह भी वैसा ही है।

इन्द्राग्नी शतदाव्न्यश्वमेधे सुवीर्यम् । क्षत्रं धारयतं बृहद्दिवि सूर्यमिवाजरम् ॥
इंद्र और अग्नि, तुम सौ वरदान देते हो। अश्वमेध में जब पूरा बल देता है तब तुम शक्ति रखो। राजा की ताकत बड़ी होनी चाहिए, जैसे आसमान में सूर्य हमेशा चमकता है। वो कभी बूढ़ा नहीं होता।
