Agni
This hymn praises Agni as the divine helper who grants wealth, fame, and strong progeny to the sincere offerer, while also protecting the worshipper from hostile forces. Agni is invoked as the truthful, seer-born power who “ferries” the devotee beyond enmity like a ship across dangerous waters. The overall purpose is both ritual (successful offering and blessings) and protective (safe passage beyond opposition).

Mantra 1
अच्छा वो अग्निमवसे देवं गासि स नो वसुः । रासत्पुत्र ऋषूणामृतावा पर्षति द्विषः ॥
सीधा अग्नि के पास जा रहे हैं मदद के लिए, वो भगवान है। वो अच्छा है, वो हमें धन देगा। वो रिशियों का बेटा है, सच में स्थित है। वो हमें दुश्मनों से पार ले जाएगा।

स हि सत्यो यं पूर्वे चिद्देवासश्चिद्यमीधिरे । होतारं मन्द्रजिह्वमित्सुदीतिभिर्विभावसुम् ॥
वो सच है, उसे पुराने भगवान भी जलाते थे। वो आग है जो बुलाता है, उसकी जीभ खुशी देती है। वो चमकता है और सबको रोशनी देता है, आग के साथ।

स नो धीती वरिष्ठया श्रेष्ठया च सुमत्या । अग्ने रायो दिदीहि नः सुवृक्तिभिर्वरेण्य ॥
अग्नि, हमारी सोच और समझ से तुम हमें धन दो। तुम सबसे अच्छे हो, तुम्हे चुनना चाहिए। हमारी अच्छी बातों से तुम वो धन चमका दो जो हमें चाहिए।

अग्निर्देवेषु राजत्यग्निर्मर्तेष्वाविशन् । अग्निर्नो हव्यवाहनोऽग्निं धीभिः सपर्यत ॥
अग्नि भगवानों में राजा है, वो चमकता है। अग्नि लोगों में रहता है। अग्नि हमारी पूजा लेकर भगवानों तक पहुँचाता है। हम अपने दिल और दिमाग से अग्नि की सेवा करते हैं।

अग्निस्तुविश्रवस्तमं तुविब्रह्माणमुत्तमम् । अतूर्तं श्रावयत्पतिं पुत्रं ददाति दाशुषे ॥
अग्नि जो लोग देते हैं, उन्हे एक बेटा देता है। वो बेटा बहुत फेमस होता है, मंत्र की ताकत वाला, सबसे बड़ा। कोई उससे हरा नहीं सकता, वो राजा जैसा होता है जो सचाई सबको सुनाता है।

अग्निर्ददाति सत्पतिं सासाह यो युधा नृभिः । अग्निरत्यं रघुष्यदं जेतारमपराजितम् ॥
अग्नि सच्चा मालिक देता है, जो युद्ध में जीता है और बहादुरों के साथ लड़ता है। अग्नि तेज़ घोड़ा देता है, जो कभी नहीं हारता, हमेशा आगे बढ़ता है।

यद्वाहिष्ठं तदग्नये बृहदर्च विभावसो । महिषीव त्वद्रयिस्त्वद्वाजा उदीरते ॥
जो सबसे ज़्यादा ताकत वाली बात है, वो अग्नि के लिए बड़ा मंत्र के रूप में बोलो। तुमसे ही धन और ताकत उठती है, जैसे कोई बड़ी रानी अपनी जगह पर खड़ी हो।

तव द्युमन्तो अर्चयो ग्रावेवोच्यते बृहत् । उतो ते तन्यतुर्यथा स्वानो अर्त त्मना दिवः ॥
तुम्हारी चमक वाली आग, बड़ी बात कहलाती है, जैसे कोई पत्थर आवाज़ करता है। तुम्हारी बिजली की ताकत भी गूँजती है, जैसे आसमान अपनी आवाज़ से पुकारता है।

एवाँ अग्निं वसूयवः सहसानं ववन्दिम । स नो विश्वा अति द्विषः पर्षन्नावेव सुक्रतुः ॥
हम ढूँढने वाले हैं, इसलिए हमने अग्नि को झुक के नमस्कार किया। वो अच्छा सोचने वाला है, हमें दुश्मनों से पार ले जाएगा, जैसे कश्ती किसी को पार ले जाती है।
