Sukta 10.87
पश्चात्पुरस्तादधरादुदक्तात्कविः काव्येन परि पाहि राजन् । सखे सखायमजरो जरिम्णेऽग्ने मर्ताँ अमर्त्यस्त्वं नः ॥
paścāt purastād adharād udaktāt kaviḥ kāvyena pari pāhi rājan | sakhe sakhāyam ajaro jarimṇe ’gne martāṃ amartyas tvaṃ naḥ ||
पीछे से, आगे से, नीचे से, ऊपर से, हर तरफ से। अग्नि, तुम राजा हो, तुम्हे सब पता है। तुम अपनी शक्ति से हमारे आस-पास रह के हमें बचाओ। तुम हमारे दोस्त हो। हम तो मरने वाले हैं, लेकिन तुम मरने वाले नहीं हो। तुम हमारी रक्षा करो।
