Agni
This short Agni-hymn praises the divine Fire as the giver of effective energies, heroic power, and prosperous formation, moving between and harmonizing the two worlds (earth and heaven). It asks Agni to extend the offering into the higher realm, sustain his many stations in existence, protect the singer, and bestow a “great draviṇa” (vast plenitude of wealth/being).

अग्निः सप्तिं वाजम्भरं ददात्यग्निर्वीरं श्रुत्यं कर्मनिष्ठाम् । अग्नी रोदसी वि चरत्समञ्जन्नग्निर्नारीं वीरकुक्षिं पुरंधिम् ॥
अग्नि भगवान ताकत देता है, जो सारी शक्ति उठा के चल सके। वोह वीर इंसान भी देता है जो काम में पक्का हो, जिसका नाम सुन में आए। वोह दुनिया और आसमान दोनों में चलता है, दोनों को जोड़ता है। वोह औरत को भी शक्ति देता है जो वीर बच्चे पैदा करे, जो काम पूरा करे।

अग्नेरप्नसः समिदस्तु भद्राग्निर्मही रोदसी आ विवेश । अग्निरेकं चोदयत्समत्स्वग्निर्वृत्राणि दयते पुरूणि ॥
अग्नि का काम शुरू करो, यह शुभ होगा। अग्नि दोनों बड़ी दुनिया में घुस गया है। यह लड़ाई में एक ताकत को आगे बढ़ाता है। और बहुत सारे रास्ते जो बंद थे, उन्हे तोड़ कर साफ करता है।

अग्निर्ह त्यं जरतः कर्णमावाग्निरद्भ्यो निरदहज्जरूथम् । अग्निरत्रिं घर्म उरुष्यदन्तरग्निर्नृमेधं प्रजयासृजत्सम् ॥
अग्नि ने बूढ़े आदमी का कान बचाया। अग्नि ने पानी से बीमारी को जला कर निकाल दिया। अग्नि ने अत्रि रिशि को गर्मी में भी सुरक्षित रखा। और उसने एक इंसान को उसकी औलाद के साथ आगे बढ़ाया।

अग्निर्दाद्द्रविणं वीरपेशा अग्निॠषिं यः सहस्रा सनोति । अग्निर्दिवि हव्यमा ततानाग्नेर्धामानि विभृता पुरुत्रा ॥
अग्नि ने धन दिया, जो वीरों जैसा है। अग्नि वो रिशि देता है जो हज़ारों चीज़ें जीतता है। अग्नि ने स्वर्ग में भी अपना काम फैला दिया। और उसके स्थान बहुत जगह हैं।

अग्निमुक्थैॠषयो वि ह्वयन्तेऽग्निं नरो यामनि बाधितासः । अग्निं वयो अन्तरिक्षे पतन्तोऽग्निः सहस्रा परि याति गोनाम् ॥
रिशि लोग अग्नि को बार-बार पुकारते हैं अपनी आवाज़ से। आदमी भी जब सफ़र में थक जाते हैं, तब अग्नि को याद करते हैं। आसमान में उड़ने वाले पंछी भी अग्नि को ढूंढते हैं। अग्नि हज़ारों रोशनी के साथ घूमता है।

अग्निं विश ईळते मानुषीर्या अग्निं मनुषो नहुषो वि जाताः । अग्निर्गान्धर्वीं पथ्यामृतस्याग्नेर्गव्यूतिर्घृत आ निषत्ता ॥
इंसान के परिवार अग्नि की पूजा करते हैं। मनु और नहुष के वंश वाले भी अग्नि के लिए पैदा हुए। अग्नि सत्य का वो रास्ता है जो सीधा ले जाता है। और उसका रास्ता रोशनी में स्थिर है।

अग्नये ब्रह्म ऋभवस्ततक्षुरग्निं महामवोचामा सुवृक्तिम् । अग्ने प्राव जरितारं यविष्ठाग्ने महि द्रविणमा यजस्व ॥
रिभु नाम के रिशियों ने अग्नि के लिए वोह शब्द बनाया जो सबसे पावरफुल है। हमने इस महान अग्नि के लिए एक अच्छा गाना गाया है। ऐ अग्नि, तुम सबसे नए हो, इस गाने वाले को बचा के रखना। और ऐ अग्नि, हमारे लिए बड़ा धंदा ला के दे, हमारे पास आके।
