This hymn is an Indra-stuti that praises Indra as Viśvānara/Viśvabhū—the all-pervading, world-sustaining power—delighting in Soma and magnified by brahman (sacred word). प्र वो महे मन्दमानायान्धसोऽर्चा विश्वानराय विश्वाभुवे । इन्द्रस्य यस्य सुमखं सहो महि श्रवो नृम्णं च रोदसी सपर्यतः ॥
मैं तुम सबके लिए गा रहा हूँ, बड़े भगवान के लिए जो खुश होते हैं रस से। विश्वानर, जो सब जगह है। इंद्र की ताकत बड़ी है, वो खुश रहता है, उसकी बड़ाई दोनों दुनिया में है। दोनों दुनिया उसकी सेवा करती हैं।

सो चिन्नु सख्या नर्य इनः स्तुतश्चर्कृत्य इन्द्रो मावते नरे । विश्वासु धूर्षु वाजकृत्येषु सत्पते वृत्रे वाप्स्वभि शूर मन्दसे ॥
इन्द्र इंसान का दोस्त है। जब लोग उसकी तारीफ करते हैं, वो खुश हो जाता है और देनेवाले इंसान के लिए तैयार हो जाता है। हर जगह, हर काम में जो ताकत लाता है, वो सही काम का मालिक है। दुश्मन पे या पानी में, वो हीरो बन जाता है, जीत के लिए रेडी।

के ते नर इन्द्र ये त इषे ये ते सुम्नं सधन्यमियक्षान् । के ते वाजायासुर्याय हिन्विरे के अप्सु स्वासूर्वरासु पौंस्ये ॥
इन्द्र, तुम्हारे कौनसे आदमी हैं जो तुमसे माँगते हैं? कौन लोग हैं जो तुम्हारे लिए पूजा करते हैं ताकि तुम उन्हें अच्छी चीज़ें दो? कौन तुम्हे आगे बढ़ाते हैं, जीत की तरफ? कौन पानी में और अच्छी ज़मीन में तुम्हारी ताकत को बुलाते हैं?

भुवस्त्वमिन्द्र ब्रह्मणा महान्भुवो विश्वेषु सवनेषु यज्ञियः । भुवो नॄँश्च्यौत्नो विश्वस्मिन्भरे ज्येष्ठश्च मन्त्रो विश्वचर्षणे ॥
इन्द्र, तुम शब्द से बड़े हो। हर जगह लोग तुम्हे पूजा में बुलाते हैं। लोगों में तुम ही ताकत हो, जब भी कोई भारी काम आता है। तुम्हारा मंत्र सबसे पुराना है, सब लोग तुम्हे फॉलो करते हैं।

अवा नु कं ज्यायान्यज्ञवनसो महीं त ओमात्रां कृष्टयो विदुः । असो नु कमजरो वर्धाश्च विश्वेदेता सवना तूतुमा कृषे ॥
जो लोग यज्ञ करते हैं, वो जानते हैं कि तुम्हारी ताकत कितनी बड़ी है। तुम कभी बूढ़े नहीं होते, तुम हमेशा बढ़ते रहते हो। तुम सब सोम के पूजा को आगे बढ़ाते हो, हमारे काम के लिए।

एता विश्वा सवना तूतुमा कृषे स्वयं सूनो सहसो यानि दधिषे । वराय ते पात्रं धर्मणे तना यज्ञो मन्त्रो ब्रह्मोद्यतं वचः ॥
तुम ही सोम की सारी पूजा को चलाते हो, ताकत के बेटे। तुम हम में जो चाहिए वो डाल देते हो। तुम्हारे लिए एक बर्तन है, धरम के लिए यज्ञ है, मंत्र है, और वो शब्द जो सच उठाके लाता है।

ये ते विप्र ब्रह्मकृतः सुते सचा वसूनां च वसुनश्च दावने । प्र ते सुम्नस्य मनसा पथा भुवन्मदे सुतस्य सोम्यस्यान्धसः ॥
यह रिशि लोग ब्रह्म का काम करते हैं और सोम के साथ रहते हैं। वो तुम्हारे लिए मार्ग बना देते हैं ताकि तुम्हारी कृपा आए। धन और शक्ति मिल जाए, सोम के आनंद में।
