मैं सोम को उठा के चलती हूँ, जो रास्ते के रुकावटों को तोड़ता है। मैं त्वष्टा को भी उठाता हूँ, और पूषन और भगवान को भी। मैं धन देता हूँ उस इंसान को जो भगवान के लिए कुछ चढ़ाता है। जो इंसान सोम पीस कर चढ़ाता है, मैं उसको बड़ा रक्षा करता हूँ।
Vāc declares she bears Soma (described as āhanasa, a smiter of obstacles) and also bears Tvaṣṭṛ, Pūṣan, and Bhaga; she bestows treasure upon the offerer and the Soma-presser, providing good protection.
The Word-Power carries within it the bliss-force (Soma) that strikes down inner obstacles and opens the sealed energies. She also holds the formative artisan (Tvaṣṭṛ: the shaper of inner instruments), the guiding nourisher (Pūṣan: the leader on the path), and the distributor of delight/portion (Bhaga: the enjoyer and giver of rightful share). In the inner sacrifice, Vāc installs ‘draviṇa’—substance/wealth of consciousness—for the one who offers aspiration (havis) and presses out the Soma of experience through disciplined practice.
True prosperity is a state of consciousness: bliss, right formation, guidance, and rightful enjoyment arise when the Word aligns aspiration with the divine working.
Soma empowerment, Bestowal of inner treasure, Formative and nourishing powers, Devī Vāc as giver
A revelatory hymn where the seer identifies with the cosmic Word; the voice is simultaneously personal and transpersonal—typical of late Rigvedic self-manifestation hymns.
Shows Vāc as the carrier of Ananda (Soma) and as the power that organizes divine functions in the aspirant—formation (Tvaṣṭṛ), guidance (Pūṣan), and right enjoyment (Bhaga).
Ensures the transmission of divine energies into the human system; makes the sacrifice effective by carrying and distributing the god-powers.
Capacity to ‘hold’ higher vibrations (Ananda, guidance, formation) and translate them into stable psychological riches and protection.
Soma sacrifice context (thematic): affirmation of Soma and divine distributions; could accompany Soma-pressing symbolism and offering sequences.

4 pādas × ~11 syllables
Energetic but measured; supports the sense of ‘bearing’ and ‘bestowing’ through steady beats.
Invokes strength and protection; helps the listener feel held and guided while opening to bliss.
Soma-pressing context and empowerment of yajamāna; supports the view that the Word installs the treasure (draviṇa) in the practitioner.
During Soma-related recitations or as an invocation of prosperity/protection for the yajamāna.
Praise/identification with the power enabling Soma and the distribution of gifts (dakṣiṇā/wealth).
Chant before meditation or creative work to invoke (1) Ananda, (2) right formation of capacities, (3) guidance on the path, and (4) auspicious fruition.
āhanasa ‘striking’ from ā+√han. draviṇa ‘wealth’ from √dru/√drav ‘run/flow’ (wealth as flowing plenitude), often ‘substance’/‘means’. bhaga from √bhaj ‘distribute’ → felicity as apportioned grace. pūṣan from √puṣ ‘nourish’.
divine Word as carrier of powers, inner wealth (draviṇa) as fullness of being, distribution of grace (bhaga)
‘Bhaga’ implies lawful apportioning; Vāc makes distribution align with ṛta—right measure and right time.
Speech that bears Soma becomes ‘true speech’: it carries experiential nectar, not mere concept.
Manifestation as a crafted formation (Tvaṣṭṛ) guided along paths (Pūṣan) and enjoyed as rightful share (Bhaga).
Integral Vedic psychology: bliss is not escapist but organized into life via right formation and guidance.
Pressing Soma = extracting delight from experience through concentration; path = inner guidance; treasure = stable spiritual substance.
Feel the ‘bearing’ of higher joy: hold a subtle sweetness in the heart while keeping the mind clear; let speech/thought become a vessel for Ananda.
Anāhata (heart)
Inhale gently imagining Soma rising as cool nectar; exhale offering it into inner Agni (aspiration).
Protected joy with disciplined clarity; calm strength that can act without strain.
Practice ‘Soma-pressing’ daily: extract one drop of delight from difficulty by reframing it in truth; then speak/act from that distilled poise.
Rigvedic accents as transmitted; keep clarity on compound clusters (āhanasam, suprāvye).
Mark pāda breaks distinctly; emphasize the verb bibharmy/dadhāmi with a firm but not loud stress to convey ‘bearing’ and ‘bestowing’.
āhanasam: sustain long ā; do not reduce ‘ha’., tvaṣṭāram: pronounce ṣṭ as retroflex cluster (ṣṭā)., pūṣaṇam: long ū and retroflex ṣ., suprāvye: articulate prāv with clear r; avoid turning it into ‘pravye’., sunvate: keep ‘nv’ conjunct clean (sun-va-te).
Warm, steady, slightly luminous; let the tone ‘carry’ rather than push.
