This hymn is a dawn-invocation to the Aśvins, set in the moment when Agni awakens, Sūrya rises, and Uṣas spreads her light, marking the world’s orderly motion set in course by Savitṛ. It asks the twin healers to come swiftly on their chariot, bring vitality and nourishment, cleanse harms and hostility, and establish strength and success for the devoted offerer.

Mantra 1
अबोध्यग्निर्ज्म उदेति सूर्यो व्युषाश्चन्द्रा मह्यावो अर्चिषा । आयुक्षातामश्विना यातवे रथं प्रासावीद्देवः सविता जगत्पृथक् ॥
अग्नि जाग उठा है धरती पर। सूरज उग रहा है। सविता भगवान ने सारी दुनिया को चला दिया है, हर चीज़ अपने रास्ते पर।

अर्वाङ्त्रिचक्रो मधुवाहनो रथो जीराश्वो अश्विनोर्यातु सुष्टुतः । त्रिवन्धुरो मघवा विश्वसौभगः शं न आ वक्षद्द्विपदे चतुष्पदे ॥
अश्विनों का रथ आए जिसमें तीन पहिए हैं और मधु भरा है। घोड़े तेज़ हैं और लोग उनकी तारीफ करते हैं। यह रथ हमें शांति लाए, दो पाँव वालों में और चार पाँव वालों में।

आ न ऊर्जं वहतमश्विना युवं मधुमत्या नः कशया मिमिक्षतम् । प्रायुस्तारिष्टं नी रपांसि मृक्षतं सेधतं द्वेषो भवतं सचाभुवा ॥
अश्विन, हमें असली खाना और ताकत लाओ। अपनी मधु भरी चम्मर से उसे मिलाओ। हमारी जान को साफ रखना, दाग मिटा दो, दुश्मन को भगाओ। तुम हमारे साथ रहो और हमारे साथ बनो।

युवं ह गर्भं जगतीषु धत्थो युवं विश्वेषु भुवनेष्वन्तः । युवमग्निं च वृषणावपश्च वनस्पतीँरश्विनावैरयेथाम् ॥
दोनों भगवान ने दुनिया में एक छुपा हुआ बीज रखा है। वो दोनों हर जगह मौजूद हैं। ये दोनों ताकतवर हैं। इन्होंने अग्नि और पानी और पेड़ों की जान को चलाया है। ये ताकतें जीवन को बनाती हैं और ठीक करती हैं।

युवं ह स्थो भिषजा भेषजेभिरथो ह स्थो रथ्या राथ्येभिः । अथो ह क्षत्रमधि धत्थ उग्रा यो वां हविष्मान्मनसा ददाश ॥
दोनों भगवान इलाज करने वाले हैं और उनके पास इलाज की ताकत है। वो रथों के मालिक हैं और रथों की ताकत से चलते हैं। जो इंसान उन्हें पूजा से और दिल से बुलाता है, उसको वो जीत की ताकत देते हैं। इससे अंदर का लड़ाई जीत जाता है।
