The king and his kith and kin were received with honour in a pleasing manner. Kausalya, Sumitra and Kaikeyi of slender waist and other women attending on the king were busy in receiving the new brides.
Dharma here is social and familial duty: honoring guests, maintaining decorum, and properly receiving new family members sustains harmony in the royal household.
After the wedding journey, the king’s household celebrates; the queens and royal women formally welcome the brides into the palace.
Saṃskāra and hospitality—orderly, respectful integration of the brides into the family.
