Mahābhārata: messenger/scout reports describing dhvaja-ratha-śobhā of armies (formulaic parallel)
Arthaśāstra-style nīti: reconnaissance and reporting as first step of response (conceptual)

Anuṣṭup (śloka)
Commanding narrative
Clear articulation of compounds; slight pause before direct speech marker ("वचनं चेदम्")
Satya and responsibility in counsel: conveying observations accurately to one’s leader so decisions can be made without confusion or rumor.
After sighting the approaching force, Lakṣmaṇa formally reports its appearance to Rāma and begins advising action.
