yáḥ kṛṣṇáḥ keśyàsúraḥ stambajá utá tuṇḍíkaḥ | arā́yānasyā muṣkā́bhyāṃ bháṃsasópa hanmasi ||
Whoso is black, long-haired, an Asura, thicket-born, yea, the snouted goblin—him, of the hostile witch, by the stones from the rump do we smite down.
Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (Aṅgiras/Atharvan line; hymn ascribed generically in many indices)
Devata: Rakṣas/piśāca-expulsion; the operative power of the mantra (brahman) as agent
Chandas: Anuṣṭubh (predominant in AV apotropaic verses)
Primary: raudra
Secondary: bhayankara
