Sukta 4
इन्द्रो॑ यातू॒नाम॑भवत् पराश॒रो ह॑वि॒र्मथी॑नाम॒भ्या॒३विवा॑सताम्। अ॒भीदु॑ श॒क्रः प॑र॒शुर्यथा॒ वनं॒ पात्रे॑व भि॒न्दन्त्स॒त एतु र॒क्षसः॑
índro yātū́nām abhavat parāśaró havírmathīnām abhyā́vivāsatām | abhī́du śakráḥ paraśúr yáthā vánam pā́treva bhindán satá etu rákṣasaḥ ||
Indra hath become the expeller of the yātu-powers, of those who, drawing near, would churn and mar the oblation. Thereon the Mighty One—an axe as it were to a forest—cleaving like vessels, let the present Rākṣas depart away.
इंद्र इन जादूगरों को भगा देता है जो हवन में हाथ डाल कर उसे बिगाड़ना चाहते हैं। शक्तिशाली इंद्र ने उनपर वार किया जैसे जंगल पर कुल्हाड़ी से वार होता है। वो भांडे तोड़ने वाले की तरह इन राक्षसों को तोड़ कर भगा दिया।
