उ॒षाः पुं॑श्च॒ली मन्त्रो॑ माग॒धो वि॒ज्ञानं॒ वासोऽह॑रु॒ष्णीषं॒ रात्री॒ केशा॒ हरि॑तौ प्रव॒र्तौ क॑ल्म॒लिर्म॒णिः
uṣā́ḥ púṃścalī mántró māgadhó vijñā́naṃ vā́so 'háruṣṇī́ṣaṃ rā́trī kéśā hárītau pravartáu kalmalír maṇíḥ
Dawn is his wanton woman; Mantra his Māgadhan herald; Knowledge is his raiment; Day his turban; Night his hair; the two Tawny ones his pair of drivers; Kalmalī is his amulet-jewel.
उसके लिए सुबह जैसे कोई सुंदर नारी हो। मंत्र उसके लिए किसी मगध के संदेशवाहक की तरह है। ज्ञान उसका कपड़ा है, दिन उसकी टोपी, रात उसके बाल। दो बढ़े हुए उसके ड्राइवर हैं, और कल्मली उसके गले का मणि है।
