चलामित्रं प्रयातो हि सुखेनावाप्तसिद्धिः पार्ष्णिग्राहमुच्छिन्द्यात् न स्थितामित्रं प्रयातः ॥
calāmitraṃ prayāto hi sukhenāvāptasiddhiḥ pārṣṇigrāham ucchindyāt na sthitāmitraṃ prayātaḥ
जिस दुश्मन का मित्र पक्का नहीं है, उसके खिलाफ जाना आसान है और जीतना आसानी से होता है। ऐसे में पीछे हमला करने वाले को रोकना भी आसान है। लेकिन जिस दुश्मन का मित्र पक्का है, उसके खिलाफ तब तक मत जाओ जब तक पीछे का खतरा दूर नहीं हो जाता।
