पितापुत्रयोर्दम्पत्योर्भ्रातृभगिन्योर्मातुलभगिनेययोः शिष्याचार्ययोर्वा परस्परमपतितं त्यजतः सार्थाभिप्रयातं ग्राममध्ये वा त्यजतः पूर्वः साहसदण्डः कान्तारे मध्यमः तन्निमित्तं भ्रेषयत उत्तमः सहप्रस्थायिष्वन्येष्वर्धदण्डाः ॥ कZ_०३.२०.१८ ॥
pitāputrayordampatyorbhrātṛbhaginyormātulabhagineyayoḥ śiṣyācāryayorvā parasparamapatitaṃ tyajataḥ sārthābhiprayātaṃ grāmamadhye vā tyajataḥ pūrvaḥ sāhasadaṇḍaḥ kāntāre madhyamaḥ tannimittaṃ bhreṣayata uttamaḥ sahaprasthāyiṣvanyeṣvardhadaṇḍāḥ
जब बाप और बेटा, पति-पत्नी, भाई-बहन, मामा-भांजा, या गुरु-शिष्य बिना किसी वजह एक दूसरे को छोड़ के चले गए। या किसी काफिले के साथ चल रहे आदमी को छोड़ दिया, या गाँव में किसी को छोड़ दिया - तो पहला साहस जुर्माना लगेगा। जंगल में छोड़ा तो बीच वाला जुर्माना, और अगर मर गया तो सबसे बड़ा जुर्माना। बाकी लोगों के लिए आधा जुर्माना।
