Discrimination of the Three Bodies and the Dharaṇī Vow: A Manual for Dvādaśī Observance
किमत्र बहुनोक्तेन न तदस्ति महामुने । अप्राप्यं प्राप्यते नैव पापं वा यन्न नश्यति ॥ ३९.७२ ॥
kim atra bahunoktena na tad asti mahāmune | aprāpyaṁ prāpyate naiva pāpaṁ vā yan na naśyati || 39.72 ||
Maha muni, zyada bolne ki zaroorat nahi hai. Koi cheez aisi nahi jo nahi milti. Aur koi paap aisa nahi jo khatam nahi hota.
Varāha (default dialogic framework; speaker not explicit in excerpt)
It exemplifies a common Purāṇic didactic formula: concise summation after prior exposition, emphasizing transformative efficacy (attainment and removal of demerit) within the text’s instructional context.
No specific geographic site is named in this verse fragment; it functions as a general doctrinal summary rather than a place-based description.
The verse underscores the principle that ethical demerit (pāpa) is not permanent and can be eradicated, and that what seems unattainable can become attainable—framed as a concluding maxim to a larger instruction.
