Is mantra mein Vata ka gun-gaan hai. Vata hawa hai jo dikhta nahi par uski taqat sabko mehsoos hoti hai. Uski rath ki awaaz badal jaisi garajti hai aur wo aasman tak jati hai. Wo dharti ka dhool udake sabko dikha deta hai ki wo hai kahan. Vata antariksh mein lagatar chalta rehta hai bina ruke. Uska asli baap kaun hai ye koi nahi janta. Wo devtaon ka khud apna aap hai aur duniya ki shuruwat bhi usi se hui. Isliye hum Vata ko havan mein samarpit karte hain.

वातस्य नु महिमानं रथस्य रुजन्नेति स्तनयन्नस्य घोषः । दिविस्पृग्यात्यरुणानि कृण्वन्नुतो एति पृथिव्या रेणुमस्यन् ॥
Vayu ke rath ki mahima dekho, woh aage badh raha hai, sab kuch tod ke. Uski awaaz goonjti hai. Woh aasman ko chhuta hai, laali bana raha hai. Dharti ka dhool uda raha hai, sab ko hila raha hai.

सं प्रेरते अनु वातस्य विष्ठा ऐनं गच्छन्ति समनं न योषाः । ताभिः सयुक्सरथं देव ईयतेऽस्य विश्वस्य भुवनस्य राजा ॥
Hawa ke peeche-peeche saare log chale jaate hain. Jaise ladkiyan kisi meeting mein jaati hain, waise woh usse milne jaate hain. Ek hi rath mein sab baithe hain, aur woh devta chal padta hai. Woh poori duniya ka raja hai.

अन्तरिक्षे पथिभिरीयमानो न नि विशते कतमच्चनाहः । अपां सखा प्रथमजा ऋतावा क्व स्विज्जातः कुत आ बभूव ॥
Yeh hawa aasmaan mein chalti hai, kisi bhi din kahin rukti nahi. Yeh paani ka dost hai, sabse pehle paida hui, aur sach ka kaam karti hai. Koi nahi jaanta ki yeh kahan paida hui, kahan se aayi.

आत्मा देवानां भुवनस्य गर्भो यथावशं चरति देव एषः । घोषा इदस्य शृण्विरे न रूपं तस्मै वाताय हविषा विधेम ॥
Yeh hawa sab devtaon ki jaan hai, aur poori duniya ismein basi hai. Yeh devta jaise chahta hai waise chalta hai. Iski awaaz toh sunai deti hai, lekin dekhta koi nahi. Is Vata devta ko hum apna offering denge.
