Devata

Dyāvāpṛthivī (Heaven and Earth)

Chandas

Triṣṭubh (typical for such praise verses; verify)

Yeh mantra Dyava-Prithvi, yani Aasman aur Dharti ko bulata hai. Inhe maa-baap jaisa maana jaata hai jo sachchai se bade hain. Yeh dono sansar ka niyam chalate hain aur sab theek rakhte hain. Inki wajah se yagya ka asar sabke saamne dikhta hai. Inhi se taakatein paida hoti hain jo sthirta aur gati deti hain. Ant mein Savitar ke saath maanga hai ki humein sahi raasta dikhne wali sampatti mile.

Mantras

Mantra 1

Main aakash aur dharti ki tarif karta hoon, yajna ke saath. Yeh dono bade hain aur sachchai se bhadte hain. Sabha mein main unki stuti karta hoon, jo samajhdari rakhte hain. Yeh devataon mein se do hain, acchi shakti wale. Yeh soch ke acche vardaan sajate hain.

Mantra 2

Yeh dono bete acche kaam karte hain aur unmein badi taakat hai. Dono maa se paida hue, purani soch ke liye. Inhone sachaai ko pakka kiya, jo khada hai aur jo chalta hai, dono ka dharam. Bacche ke liye raasta khola, jo banta hai do hisson mein nahi.

Mantra 4

Dono bade samajhdar hain aur shakti mein maahir hain. Bhai-bhai hain, ek hi jagah paida hue, saath mein rehte hain. Bar-bar naya kaam shuru karte hain, aasmaan mein bhi aur samundar ke andar bhi. Rishi log chamak ke yeh sab bana rahe hain.

Mantra 5

Aaj hum Savitar ki us barkat ko yaad kar rahe hain jo sab ko pasand aati hai. Aasman aur Dharti, tum dono saaf raasta dikhao. Humein wo dhan do, jismein bahut kuch ho, sau guna badh ke.

Frequently Asked Questions

They are Heaven and Earth personified as a divine pair—the two great supporters of the world—praised for wisdom, vastness, and for sustaining cosmic order (ṛta).

That Heaven and Earth uphold the truth and law of the universe, make the sacrifice effective, and can grant prosperity and protection when invoked with right intention and offerings.

Savitar represents the divine impulsion (prasava) that sets life and ritual in motion; the hymn aligns the request for prosperity with that sacred impetus, asking Heaven and Earth to bestow wealth under clear guidance.
