Is mantra mein Chandrama ko bulaya gaya hai. Wo apni tej aur agni shakti lekar aate hain. Ye shakti dushman ke hamle ko wapas usi par karne ke liye hai. Jo hamare dushman hai, uski chamak aur taakat cheen li jati hai. Ye ek tarah ka badla lene ka mantra hai. Dushman ki buri niyat usi par ulat di jati hai.
Mantra 1
शत्रुनाशनम्। चन्द्र॒ यत् ते॒ तप॒स्तेन॒ तं प्रति॑ तप॒ यो॒३स्मान् द्वेष्टि॒ यं व॒यं द्वि॒ष्मः
Yeh mantra dushman ko khatam karne ke liye hai. Chandra dev se prayer hai ki apni tapasya ki taakat se dushman ko jala do. Jo hamse dushmani karta hai, jisko hum bhi sahi nahi maante, usko wapas mein tapao.

चन्द्र॒ यत् ते॒ हर॒स्तेन॒ तं प्रति॑ हर॒ यो॒३स्मान् द्वेष्टि॒ यं व॒यं द्वि॒ष्मः
Chandra dev, tumhari taakat se dua hai ki dushman ko wapas karo. Jo hamse nafrat karta hai, jisko hum bhi pasand nahi karte, usko tum apni garmi se bhagao.

चन्द्र॒ यत् ते॒ऽर्चिस्तेन॒ तं प्रत्य॑र्च॒ यो॒३स्मान् द्वेष्टि॒ यं व॒यं द्वि॒ष्मः
Chandra se yeh prayer hai. Chandra, tumhari jo roshni hai, usse us aadmi par chamka do jo humse nafrat karta hai. Hum bhi usse nafrat karte hain, toh usko wapas roshni dikhao.

चन्द्र॒ यत् ते॒ शो॒चिस्तेन॒ तं प्रति॑ शोच॒ यो॒३स्मान् द्वेष्टि॒ यं व॒यं द्वि॒ष्मः
Chandra se yeh prayer hai. Chandra, tumhari jo chamak hai, usse us aadmi ko jala do jo humse nafrat karta hai. Hum bhi usse nafrat karte hain, toh usko wapas saza do.

चन्द्र॒ यत् ते॒ तेज॒स्तेन॒ तम॑ते॒जसं॑ कृणु॒ यो॒३स्मान् द्वेष्टि॒ यं व॒यं द्वि॒ष्मः
Chandra se yeh prayer hai. Chandra, tumhari jo chamak hai, usse us aadmi ki chamak cheen lo jo humse nafrat karta hai. Hum bhi usse nafrat karte hain, toh usko bebas kar do.
It asks Candra to use his burning force (haras) and radiance (tejas) to turn back hostility onto the aggressor and to make the enemy ‘without tejas,’ i.e., ineffective and unable to harm.
In Atharvavedic terms it is retaliatory-apotropaic: it protects by reversal (prati-hara). The hymn’s language targets “the one who hates us,” framing the act as requital rather than unprovoked aggression.
The verses themselves emphasize lunar haras/tejas rather than naming specific plants. In practice, simple supports like clean water for sprinkling or a white thread/cloth may be used, but they are ancillary to the recitation and intention.
