Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (often transmitted under Atharvan/Angiras rubric; specific r̥ṣi attribution depends on anukramaṇī)

Is mantra mein insaan ko lambi umar aur suraksha ke liye sab devtaon ki hifazat mein liya jata hai. Vishve Dev, Vasu aur Aditya sab milkar iski raksha karte hain taaki koi bhi maut isko na chhue. Yeh mantra insaan ko dusron ke karan hone wali maut se bachata hai. Devtaon ko charon dishaon mein sthapit karke iske aas-paas ek suraksha chakkar banaya jata hai. Is tarah vyakti ek achhi aur surakshit jagah mein rehta hai. Yeh charm na sirf vyakti ki suraksha karta hai balki puja ke sthan ko bhi safe rakhta hai.
Mantra 1
Sab devta, sab Vasu log, is insaan ki raksha karo. Aaditya devta bhi, tum sab uspe nazar rakhna. Koi insaan isko maar na paaye. Na koi apna bhai-bhai, na koi begana, koi haath nahi lagaane paana chahiye.
Mantra 2
Hey bhagwan, pitra aur bete sab milkar suno meri baat. Main tum sab ko yeh dua de raha hoon. Aap log isko lekar budhe ho tak rakhna.
Mantra 3
Jo devta aasman mein hain, jo dharti pe hain, jo hawa mein hain, jo ped-paudhon mein hain, jaanwaron mein hain, paani mein hain, un sabse yeh dua hai ki is insaan ko lambi umar mile. Budha hone tak zinda rahe. Aur sau mauton se uski raksha ho.
Mantra 4
Jin devta ko yagya mein hissa milta hai, jo havan mein bethte hain, jo chizon ko grahan karte hain, un sab devta ko main is insaan ke liye bula raha hoon. Unki jagah taiyaar kar raha hoon. Woh log charon taraf se iski hifazat karenge.
It is used to secure long life and safety by invoking the collective gods to prevent human-caused harm—especially violence from relatives or outsiders—and to seal protection in all directions.
No. The hymn functions primarily as a mantra-charm; materials are optional and only relevant if it is embedded in an offering setting (prayāja/anuyāja style oblations).
It ritualizes complete coverage of space: the four directions plus the center. By ‘establishing’ the gods in these regions, the beneficiary is placed inside a guarded enclosure where danger is less able to enter.
