Vision of the Gaṅgā and Meeting with Guha
तथा विलपतां तेषामतृप्तानां च राघवः।अचक्षुर्विषयं प्रायाद्यथार्कः क्षणदामुखे।।2.50.7।।
tathā vilapatāṁ teṣām atṛptānāṁ ca rāghavaḥ |
acakṣur-viṣayaṁ prāyād yathārkaḥ kṣaṇadā-mukhe || 2.50.7 ||
वे लोग विलाप करते ही रहे और उसे और देखने की तृप्ति न पा सके; तब राघव उनकी दृष्टि से ओझल हो गया—जैसे रात्रि के मुख पर आते ही सूर्य अदृश्य हो जाता है।
The holy Ganga, adorned with graceful hermitages situated not far away is visited at times by delightful nymphs who sport in her lakes.
Dharma here is steadfast forward movement in the chosen righteous path, even when separation causes grief; Rāma does not turn back from duty because of emotion.
People who followed and loved Rāma remain weeping and unsatisfied, while Rāma continues his departure until he is no longer visible.
Rāma’s resolve (dṛḍha-niścaya) and self-control—he proceeds without wavering, despite the sorrow around him.
