Adhyaya 45 — Jaimini’s Cosmological Questions and the Opening of Markandeya’s Account of Primary Creation
गुणभावात् सृज्यमानात् सर्गकाले ततः पुनः ।
प्रधानं तत्त्वमुद्भूतं महान्तं तत् समावृणोत् ॥
guṇabhāvāt sṛjyamānāt sargakāle tataḥ punaḥ | pradhānaṃ tattvam udbhūtaṃ mahāntaṃ tat samāvṛṇot ||
फिर सृष्टि-काल में, जब गुण अपने-अपने भाव प्रकट करने लगते हैं, तब ‘प्रधान’ नामक तत्त्व उत्पन्न होता है; और वही (प्रधान) ‘महत्’ तत्त्व को आच्छादित कर लेता है।
