The verse frames violence as instrumentally dharmic when deployed to end predation (Dānavas) and to complete a protective mission; it also emphasizes completeness in narration—events are given as an ordered moral account.
Vaṃśānucarita-supporting episode (deeds of notable persons), not a direct exposition of sarga/pratisarga/manvantara; it functions as exemplary narrative within Purāṇic instruction.
The ‘astra’ can symbolize focused will/knowledge that decisively cuts through obstructive forces; meeting Madālasā suggests the fruition of the journey—wisdom/value retrieved after confrontation with chaos.
