युगधर्मवर्णनम् — चतुर्युग, गुण, धर्मपाद, तथा वार्तोत्पत्ति

अन्यथा जीवितं तासां नास्ति त्रेतायुगात्यये हस्तोद्भवा ह्यपश्चैव भवन्ति बहुशस्तदा
Transliteration
anyathā jīvitaṃ tāsāṃ nāsti tretāyugātyaye hastodbhavā hyapaścaiva bhavanti bahuśastadā
Translation
अन्यथा त्रेता-युग के अंत में उनका जीवन-निर्वाह नहीं रहता। उस समय बार-बार अनेक ‘हस्तोद्भव’ प्राणी उत्पन्न होते हैं, और ‘पशु’ (यज्ञ-व्यवस्था के योग्य) न होने वाले भी प्रकट हो जाते हैं।
