युगधर्मवर्णनम् — चतुर्युग, गुण, धर्मपाद, तथा वार्तोत्पत्ति

दुदोह गां प्रयत्नेन सर्वभूतहिताय वै तदाप्रभृति चौषध्यः फालकृष्टास्त्वितस्ततः

Transliteration

dudoha gāṃ prayatnena sarvabhūtahitāya vai tadāprabhṛti cauṣadhyaḥ phālakṛṣṭāstvitastataḥ

Translation

सभी प्राणियों के हित हेतु उसने दृढ़ प्रयत्न से पृथ्वी का दोहन किया। तभी से हल से जोती हुई भूमि से औषधि और पोषक वनस्पतियाँ सर्वत्र उत्पन्न होने लगीं।
