Sukta 50
अजैषं त्वा संलिखितमजैषमुत संरुधम्। अविं वृको यथा मथदेवा मथ्नामि ते कृतम्
ájaiṣaṁ tvā sáṁlikhitam ájaiṣam utá sáṁrudham | avíṁ vṛ́ko yáthā máthat evá mathnā́mi te kṛtám ||
I have conquered thee, though scratched and inscribed; I have conquered thee, yea though shut in and confined. As a wolf crushes a sheep, even so do I crush down thy kṛta.
मैंने तुझे जीत लिया—चाहे तू खरोंचा हुआ, लिखित-चिह्नित हो; मैंने तुझे जीत लिया—चाहे तू बंद, संकुचित किया गया हो। जैसे भेड़ को भेड़िया मथकर कुचल देता है, वैसे ही मैं तेरे ‘कृत’ (किया हुआ दोष/कर्म-फल) को मथकर दबा देता/देती हूँ।
