Sanskrit (Devanagari)

देवान् यन्नाथितो हुवे ब्रह्मचर्यं यदूषिम। अक्षान् यद् बभ्रूनालभे ते नो मृडन्त्वीदृशे

IAST Transliteration

devā́n yán nāthitó huvè brahmacaryáṃ yád ūṣím | akṣā́n yád babhrū́n ālabhé té no mṛḍantv īdṛ́śe ||

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

When, being in distress, I call upon the Gods; when I undertake the holy course of continence, when I enter upon the observance; when I lay hold upon the tawny dice—then may they be gracious unto us in such a case.

Translation

जब मैं संकट में पड़कर देवों को पुकारता हूँ; जब मैं ब्रह्मचर्य का व्रत धारण करता हूँ; जब मैं उस नियम-पालन (व्रत) में प्रवृत्त होता हूँ; जब मैं बभ्रु (ताम्रवर्ण) अक्षों को हाथ में लेता हूँ—तब ऐसे अवसर पर वे हमारे प्रति कृपालु हों।
