Sukta 2
मृत्योः पदं योपयन्त एत द्राघीय आयुः प्रतरं दधानाः । आसीना मृत्युं नुदता सधस्थेऽथ जीवासो विदथमा वदेम
mṛtyóḥ padáṁ yópayanta etá drā́ghīya ā́yuḥ pratáraṁ dádhānāḥ | āsīnā́ mṛtyúṁ nudata sadhásthe ’thá jīvā́so vidátham ā́ vadem
Hiding away this footprint of Death, establishing a life more long and further on—sitting in the common seat, thrust ye Death away; then may we, the living, speak forth in the assembly.
मृत्यु के इस पदचिह्न को छिपाते हुए, अधिक दीर्घ और आगे तक जाने वाला आयुष्य स्थापित करते हुए—सधस्थ (सामूहिक आसन) में बैठकर तुम मृत्यु को दूर हटा दो; तब हम, जीवित जन, सभा में वाणी प्रकट करें।
