Sukta 5
देवानामेतत् परिषूतमनभ्यारूढं चरति रोचमानम्। तस्माज्जातं ब्राह्मणं ब्रह्म ज्येष्ठं देवाश्च सर्वे अमतेन साकम्
devā́nām etát pariṣūtám anabhyārū́ḍhaṃ carati rócamānam | tásmāj jātáṃ brā́hmaṇaṃ bráhma jyéṣṭhaṃ devā́ś ca sárve amátena sā́kam
This, of the Gods, strained-pure, unmounted-on, goes radiant in its course. From it is born the Brāhmaṇa—Brahman the chief; and all the Gods together with immortality.
देवों का यह तत्त्व—परिषूत (छना-शुद्ध), अनभ्यारूढ (जिस पर कोई आरूढ़ नहीं), अपने पथ में तेजस्वी होकर चलता है। उसी से ब्राह्मण उत्पन्न होता है—ब्रह्म, जो ज्येष्ठ/प्रधान है; और समस्त देव अमृतत्व के साथ एकत्र (उसके साथ) हैं।
