Related Themes: Agni Purana Sahitya/Natya portions defining bhavas and rasas (adjacent 338.21 and related definitional verses)
It gives a technical definition of utsāha—energetic resolve/enterprise—used in Sanskrit literary theory (kāvya-śāstra) and ethical characterization, emphasizing steadfast effort even under opposition toward achieving puruṣārthas.
Beyond ritual and theology, the Agni Purāṇa preserves formal definitions from Sanskrit poetics and allied disciplines, showing its encyclopedic scope by codifying technical terminology (like utsāha) used in aesthetics, character analysis, and didactic literature.
By framing utsāha as goal-directed perseverance toward puruṣārthas, it promotes disciplined effort aligned with dharma and higher aims, supporting right conduct and steady progress toward liberation-oriented living.
