Related Themes: Agni Purana 35 (Pavitrādhivāsana); Agni Purana 36 (Pavitrāropaṇa-vidhāna continues)
It outlines the opening steps of Pavitra-āropaṇa: morning bath, worship of the dvārapālas (gatekeepers), entering the shrine, preparing the pavitra in a secluded place, and then ritually wearing/holding it (dhāraṇa).
It preserves a precise, procedural template for temple-entry protocol and consecratory handling of ritual implements (pavitra), showing the Agni Purāṇa’s coverage of practical liturgy alongside its many other disciplines.
The sequence emphasizes śauca (purity) and maryādā (ritual propriety): bathing purifies the practitioner, dvārapāla-pūjā sanctifies entry, and secluded preparation protects the sanctity of the pavitra, supporting merit and faultless worship.
