अप्राप्ते रजसि गौरी प्राप्ते रजसि रोहिणी । अव्यंजनकृता कन्या कुचहीना तु नग्निका
aprāpte rajasi gaurī prāpte rajasi rohiṇī | avyaṃjanakṛtā kanyā kucahīnā tu nagnikā
રજઃપ્રાપ્તિ પહેલાં તે ‘ગૌરી’ કહેવાય; રજઃપ્રાપ્ત થયા પછી ‘રોહિણી’. યૌવનલક્ષણો ન દેખાય તે ‘કન્યા’; અને કૂચ વિકસ્યા ન હોય તે ‘નગ્નિકા’ કહેવાય છે.
