स्कांदं नाम पुराणं तदेकाशीति निगद्यते । सहस्राणि शतं चैकमिति मर्त्येषु पठ्यते
skāṃdaṃ nāma purāṇaṃ tadekāśīti nigadyate | sahasrāṇi śataṃ caikamiti martyeṣu paṭhyate
‘સ્કાન્દ’ નામનું તે પુરાણ એક્યાસી હજાર (શ્લોકો)નું કહેવાય છે; પરંતુ મર્ત્યલોકમાં તેને ‘એક લાખ એક હજાર’ એમ કહીને પાઠ કરવામાં આવે છે.
