pulastya uvāca | evamuktvā virūpākṣastatraivāṃtaradhīyata | candro'pi bubhuje sarvāḥ patnīśca dakṣasaṃbhavāḥ
Pulastya
Tirtha: Prabhāsa-kṣetra (scene marker)
Type: kshetra
Listener: A king (nṛpaśreṣṭha)
Scene: Śiva as Virūpākṣa stands at the tīrtha after speaking; his form dissolves into light/space. Nearby, Candra is shown with a crescent aura, surrounded by Dakṣa’s daughters (the Nakṣatras) in a mythic tableau.
The māhātmya is anchored in purāṇic narrative: divine speech sanctifies a place, and cosmic events and relationships frame the tīrtha’s fame.
The passage concludes the Prabhāsatīrtha episode within Arbuda Khaṇḍa.
No direct prescription here; it transitions from Śiva’s boon to narrative context about Candra.
