vidyāyāśca prabhāvena jīvayāmāsa tānmuniḥ | tasyāgre'sminmahākuṇḍaṃ nirmalaṃ pāpanāśanam
Pulastya
Tirtha: Mahākuṇḍa
Type: kund
Listener: Nṛpasattama (unnamed king)
Scene: Śukra, empowered by Śiva’s vidyā, revives fallen Dānavas; in the foreground shines Mahākuṇḍa—clear, luminous water with lotus blooms—proclaimed sin-destroying.
Sacred knowledge and sacred geography work together: vidyā revives bodies, while tīrtha purifies karma.
Mahākuṇḍa—described as nirmala (pure) and pāpa-nāśana (sin-destroying).
Implicitly introduces the tīrtha; the next verse specifies snāna (bathing) and śrāddha as key acts.
