न तस्याः सदृशः कांतः प्राप्तस्तेन महात्मना । यतस्ततोऽहमादिष्टः कांतमस्यास्त्वमानय । अनुरूपं द्विजश्रेष्ठ यद्यहं संमतस्तव
na tasyāḥ sadṛśaḥ kāṃtaḥ prāptastena mahātmanā | yatastato'hamādiṣṭaḥ kāṃtamasyāstvamānaya | anurūpaṃ dvijaśreṣṭha yadyahaṃ saṃmatastava
તે મહાત્માને તેની સમાન યોગ્ય વર મળ્યો નહીં. તેથી મને આજ્ઞા અપાઈ: ‘આ કન્યાને અનુરૂપ પતિ લઈ આવ, હે દ્વિજશ્રેષ્ઠ—જો તું મારી વિનંતી માન્ય રાખે.’
