चिरं पृच्छेच्च श्रृणुयाच्चिरं न परिभूयते । धर्मे शत्रौ शस्त्रहस्ते पात्रे च निकटस्थिते
ciraṃ pṛcchecca śrṛṇuyācciraṃ na paribhūyate | dharme śatrau śastrahaste pātre ca nikaṭasthite
દીર્ઘકાળ પૂછવું અને દીર્ઘકાળ સાંભળવું—તેથી સહેલાઈથી પરાજિત થતો નથી; પરંતુ ધર્મકાર્યમાં, શત્રુ સામે, હાથમાં શસ્ત્ર હોય ત્યારે, અને યોગ્ય પાત્ર નજીક ઊભું હોય ત્યારે—વિલંબ ન કરવો।
