Transliteration

martyā amartyānsvagṛhaṃ prāptānapi bhayārditāḥ | api saṃbhāṣamātreṇa nārccayaṃti vipajjuṣaḥ

Translation

ભયથી પીડિત મર્ત્યો પોતાના ઘેર આવેલા અમર્ત્યોને પણ પૂજા-સત્કાર આપતા ન હતા; આપત્તિગ્રસ્તો તો માત્ર અભિવાદનના શબ્દથી પણ નમન કરતા ન હતા।
