दर्शाष्टकासु भूतायां श्राद्धिकं प्रतिगृह्य च । प्रतिपद्यपि पूर्णायां गजोष्ट्राभ्यां कृतांतरे

Transliteration

darśāṣṭakāsu bhūtāyāṃ śrāddhikaṃ pratigṛhya ca | pratipadyapi pūrṇāyāṃ gajoṣṭrābhyāṃ kṛtāṃtare

Translation

દર્શા અને અષ્ટકા તિથિઓમાં, ભૂતા (અશુભ) દિવસે, શ્રાદ્ધનું દાન સ્વીકારી લીધા પછી, તેમજ પૂર્ણિમા પછીની પ્રતિપદામાં—હાથી અને ઊંટથી વિઘ્ન પડે તો—આ સમય અનધ્યાય ગણવો; વેદાધ્યયન વિરમવું જોઈએ.
