Tattva Level: pasha
Role: teaching
It teaches a Shaiva yogic sequence of inner cleansing: completing the prescribed rite and then purifying the tattvas (elemental principles), moving beyond bodily dualities toward clarity fit for Shiva-realization.
In Saguna Shiva worship, ritual completion is followed by inner discipline; purifying the elements and transcending opposites prepares the devotee’s body-mind as a fit vessel for Linga-dhyana and Shiva’s grace.
It points to bhūta-śuddhi (elemental purification) and contemplative discernment of opposites (stable/unstable, cold/heat), a meditative refinement often integrated with mantra-japa and Shiva-focused dhyāna.
