सं दक्षेण मनसा जायते कविॠतस्य गर्भो निहितो यमा परः । यूना ह सन्ता प्रथमं वि जज्ञतुर्गुहा हितं जनिम नेममुद्यतम् ॥

Transliteration

sáṃ dákṣeṇa mánasā jāyate kavír ṛtásya gárbho níhito yámā paráḥ | yū́nā ha sántā prathamáṃ ví jajñatur gúhā hitáṃ jánima némam úd-yatam ||

Translation

દક્ષ (વિચારશક્તિ) અને મનસ (મન) દ્વારા કવિ (દ્રષ્ટા) જન્મે છે—ઋત (સત્ય-વ્યવસ્થા)નો ગર્ભ, યમ્યા (યુગ્મ)થી પરે અલગ રાખેલો. યુવાન હોવા છતાં, તેઓ પ્રથમ જન્મે છે; ગુહા (ગુપ્ત સ્થાને) નિહિત (સ્થાપિત) એ ગુપ્ત જન્મ, પોતાના નિયત નેમ (ક્રમ/વારો) તરફ ઊર્ધ્વે ઉદિત થાય છે.
