The Disfigurement of Śūrpaṇakhā
ततस्तु सा राक्षससङ्घसंवृतं खरं जनस्थानगतं विरूपिता।उपेत्य तं भ्रातरमुग्रदर्शनं पपात भूमौ गगनाद्यथाऽशनिः।।।।
tatas tu sā rākṣasasaṅghasaṃvṛtaṃ kharaṃ janasthānagataṃ virūpitā |
upetya taṃ bhrātaram ugradarśanaṃ papāta bhūmau gaganād yathāśaniḥ ||
ત્યારે વિકૃત થયેલી તે રાક્ષસોની ટોળકીથી ઘેરાયેલા, જનસ્થાનમાં નિવાસ કરનાર ઉગ્રદર્શન ખરને—પોતાના ભાઈને—પાસે જઈ, આકાશમાંથી પડતા વજ્ર જેવી ધરા પર પટકાઈ પડી.
